Bump in the Road
I was excited about the opportunity to get a lot done at work today and enjoy a peaceful evening at home. Turns out, my day here at work hasn’t gone according to plan. The disadvantage of relying on a web-based job control system is that if the breaks, you can’t do anything. Of anyone at CLS, my job relies heavily on the job system. I spent part of the day working on the design of our online store, which should be launching in the next few weeks. Other than that, I’ve been a glorified secretary - just answering phones and waiting on customers.
My dilemma now is whether or not to wait for our IT company to fix the issue, or just head home at five. If I wait, I have the chance of completing the work I wasn’t able to do during the day. That ruins my “peaceful night at home” however. If I go home and enjoy the evening, it means I’ll have a lot to do tomorrow. Hmm… I still have thirty minutes to decide, so we’ll see….

Mercy Me: Breathing Acoustically
A random Friday night trip to Lexington yielded a nice find. While in Family Christian Stores, I came across an acoustic version of MercyMe’s Coming Up to Breathe. I thought it might just be a few songs from the album, but it turned out to be the album in its entirety. My next thought was that it was just the acoustic tracks from the original (a stripped down version… nothing reworked or redone). I was pleased to find that most of the album seems to have reworked versions of the songs. Sounds like they did use some tracks here and there from the original, but enough has been reworked to make it interesting. If you’re interested in picking up a copy, head to a Family Christian Store, or go here.
Pet Peeve #463
So… I’ve thought about blogging about pet peeves in the past and had decided against it. However, in lieu of nothing more exciting to blog about, here goes…
Here’s the scenario: I call someone and they don’t answer. So, I leave a message on their voice mail. Two seconds later, they call me back. This is annoying on two levels. Not only did they not answer their phone two minutes earlier when I originally called. In addition, they didn’t check their voice mail before calling back. Come on, people! Either answer your phone, or wait to see if the person leaves a message. It’s really annoying when they call you back while you’re leaving the message.
Anybody with me on this?

Free Bible Software
I’ve come across several sources for free bible software, on both Windows and Mac. If you can’t afford the popular options of iLumina and QuickVerse, check out the following options. Some of their installation instructions for modules can be a little tricky, but there are step-by-step instructions available. Users of the ESV will be pleased to find it available in all of the following options.

Rules Are Made to be Enjoyed
This week’s sermon from The Point is titled “Rules Are Made to be Enjoyed.” Rick explains why the law was meant to be a blessing and not a curse. For our benefit, and not our misery.
(now that I have this handy-dandy audio plugin, I imagine I’ll be posting each week’s sermons here, as well as at the TPCC Media site.)
On Solid Ground
The Point is currently going through our first membership course. Last week’s lesson was led by Shane McGrath on the topic of sound doctrine. Good stuff! Check it out:
