Addicted to Sausage Balls

without comments

Scenario: There’s a food that you really like to eat, but you try not to eat it very often. Why? Because you know if you eat it a lot, you’ll want to eat it more often and in bigger helpings.

That food for me is sausage balls. I try to limit my sausage ball intake to around once a year. That’s usually at a family Christmas gathering when my grandmother makes them. A normal person might eat three or four. Maybe five or six. Not me. I’ll pop one or two every time I walk by the plate. By the end of the night, I’ll discover that I’ve eaten about ten or twelve sausage balls. No big deal, right? It’s just once a year. We only live once. All that jazz.

However, during my last trip to Kroger, I unfortunately discovered pre-made, pop-’em-in-the-oven sausage balls. I had some of them tonight, and I have to admit – they’re every bit as good as my grandmother’s.

I think I’ll be staying away from them the next time I’m in Kroger.
