Apple held their annual MacWorld Expo today, unveiling their new products for 2005. Wow. How about a new 6.5″x6.5″x2″ Mac mini desktop for $599? They’re targeting PC users, and I predict it will be an extremely successful move. I have a very good feeling that my next desktop will be a Mac mini.
They also released 512MB and 1GHz models of the iPod for $99 and $149 (a steal), a new office software (iWork), and announced updates to their iLife series for ‘05.
I’m very surprised at the pricing for the Mac mini and the new iPods. Over the years, Apple has traditionally been a bit more pricey than other computer-makers. However, in the last few years, in order to gain more of an edge on the market, they’ve slowly dropped their prices on new products. If you’ve never used a Mac, and are considering buying a new computer, I highly suggest looking at a Mac.
