Bailey Wants to go to the Attic
Aside from being a nosy little dog, Bailey really, really wanted to go up to the attic with me. This was as close as he got…
Sorry Folks
I’m not ignoring the blog…. just not much to blog about right now.
Anyone want to throw out some topics?
New Camera
Though maybe against my better judgement, I finally broke down and purchased a new camera this weekend – the Canon SD400. I got a very good deal on the little sucker, and it takes some pretty good pictures. I’m going to work on a new photo gallery at some point this week and upload some of my newest pictures for y’all to see. More to come….
Shutout from Blogging
My effort to blog daily was thwarted last night. I was going to blog about the new LBB site design I hashed out yesterday, as well as my New Year’s Eve pictures. But, for some reason, I couldn’t log onto my blog. Oh well. All seems to be working now. Check out my site for the above information.
First Snow of the Year
We had our first snow of the year today. Technically, we can say it was the first snow day, but in reality, it was more of a sleet and rain day. At the current late hour (1 a.m.), it’s getting colder and things are icing over. Should make things interesting for people driving around in the morning. Be careful! Drive slow!
New Theme Coming Soon
I’ll be changing the look of my blog in the very near future. The problem is, there’s too many choices. I’m narrowing down which theme I want to use next.
Not Getting Sick
With the temperature changes that we’ve experienced the last few weeks, it seems as though everyone is coming down with a cold, or something worse. I’ve been lucky so far – I think I dodged a bullet last week. To this end, I’d like to present some words of wisdom from my college band director – Dr. Pete LaRue. This is what I like to call “Dr. Pete’s Common Sense Methods to Prevent Sickness.” I generally do all of these, and for the most part, I stay fairly healthy (I honestly don’t remember the last time I went to the doctor because of sickness).
1. Wash your hands.
2. Get some sleep.
3. Eat something.
4. Drink orange juice.
5. Take vitamins.
Happy Thanksgiving
Happy Thanksgiving to everyone out there in the blogosphere.
I’ve spent the day working (went in for a couple of hours at CLS this morning), eating, relaxing, hanging out with my family, doing laundry, and working on a new site design for my personal site. It’s been very productive, but not exhausting. I’m just glad to have the next few days off from work to recharge for the Christmas rush.
Tomorrow’s plans include working on more web site stuff, and a gig with the Josh Martin Band.
Enjoy your turkey!
Halloween
Saturday night, I’ll be heading to the only Halloween party that I’ll attend this year. Surprisingly, it didn’t take me long to figure out a costume. The problem was whether or not I’d be able to get the costume. Turns out, it wasn’t too difficult.
I called up Mike West, whom I used to play with in the Saxton’s Cornet Band. I asked for a Union uniform, and he said it’d be no problem. I’m picking it up on Thursday night.
So, there you have it. I’m going to be a civil war soldier for Halloween.
Window Into Society
Want to know how kids really are these days? Dads – want to know where the general internet public can see your daughter in a bikini or other revealing clothing? Want to know where kids go to be cool on the internet these days? Hop over to MySpace.com and you’ll get your fill.
I guess since I’m “getting older,” it comes as more of a shock to me. MySpace.com is basically an internet community where you can have your own blog, post pictures, videos, chat with other members, and more. It’s seems to have taken with the high school & college crowd. In essence, it’s a great idea. However, it’s basically turned into a soft porn site where everyone can show off their goods and talk about last weekend’s party. I think I’m more amazed at seeing 16-18 year old girls posting pictures of themselves on their Spring Break trips, or in mini-skirts and revealing tops. Let’s not forget the central Kentucky 18-year old that posts “sex” as one of her “general interests.”
Just in case you’re wondering about what (most of) today’s 16-25 year olds are like, head over there and you’ll find out.
